Responsible to provide effective administrative management that supports the mission, philosophy, goals, objectives and standards of Saint Joseph Hospital/KentuckyOne Health through the organization and management of the Hospital’s functions, services, divisions, and departments. Assists the President in the short and long range planning function. Assumes responsibility for Saint Joseph Hospital in the absence of the President. Reports to the President, Saint Joseph Hospital.
Planning and Program Development
Works with the President on the strategic planning process by integrating the future trends in health services with the health care needs of the community. Maintains networks within the community, especially the health care and medical communities, to take advantage of opportunities that promote the Saint Joseph Hospital and KentuckyOne strategy.Ensures that areas of responsibility planning efforts are congruent with the Saint Joseph Hospital and KentuckyOne strategic direction. Responsible for successful development and implementation of specifically approved programs within areas of responsibility.
Provides leadership and vision to staff in areas of accountability. Coordinates and directs the day-to-day operations in areas of responsibility, ensuring quality standards are maintained. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies by continually monitoring the operations of the departments against established standards and by initiating changes where required.
Fiscal and Physical Assets:
Collaborates with KYOne Finance in preparation of operating and capital budgets of Saint Joseph Hospital. Manages the fiscal affairs of responsibility within the established Business Plan. Oversees all capital expenditures for Saint Joseph Hospital. Monitors systems to ensure productivity standards are met. Maintains control of costs to meet requirements. Assures processes are in place, which maximizes Saint Joseph Hospital’s fiscal, physical and human resources.
Ensures Human Resources policies and directives are implemented to support the quality of service and to maintain the respect of the team members. Monitors the processes of employment, training and evaluation to assure that levels of competency are maintained, especially for those clinical services that are provided to a wide range of patient ages. Assures, through review and personal demonstration, that the Saint Joseph Hospital/KentuckyOne Health Standards of Excellence are exhibited in areas of accountability.
Position requires an individual with a Master’s degree in health care or related field and a minimum of seven years experience in health care with progressively more responsible positions leading to a current leadership role.

Requires ability to sustain efforts in face of constant stresses, changes in priorities and interruptions in work. Required to participate in Hospital activities on evenings and weekends. Most work is carried out in an office/conference room setting.
