Pitney Bowes Seeks a Customer Service Associate/Mail

This position will sit in our Pitney Bowes Management Services business unit. This business unit helps our customers compete more effectively by taking care of critical yet non-core services to allow them to focus on what they do best. These services include: professional consulting, mail-and-document management and managed output services to integrated content management.

We are currently seeking a Customer Service Associate/Mail . This position will be located in our Bakersfield , CA location.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Pick-up and deliver mail, parcels and other items to customers within established timeframes
and service standards
  • Lift large bundles of mail, overnight packages.
  • Handle time-sensitive material like confidential, urgent packages
  • Maintain the highest levels of customer care while demonstrating a friendly and cooperative attitude
  • Demonstrate flexibility in satisfying customer demands in a high volume, production environment
  • Take direction from supervisor or site manager
  • Maintain all logs and reporting documentation; attention to detail
  • Adhere to all safety procedures
  • Adhere to all applicable Federal, State, Local and Company safety and traffic regulations/policies
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
  • Lifting up to 55 pounds with or without accommodations

The ideal candidates must be able to demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of six months customer service related experience required
  • Minimum of six months experience in a mail center environment preferred
  • Keyboarding and windows environment PC skills required
  • Strong Organizational skill required
  • Clerical/office equipment experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively work individually or in a team environment
  • Competency in performing multiple functional tasks
  • Ability to meet employer's attendance policy
  • Lifting up to 55 pounds with or without accommodations
  • Standing for long periods of time with or without accommodations
  • Significant walking with or without accommodations
  • Willingness to submit to a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
