Seagate in Shakopee, MN is seeking a Program/Project Manager to join our design
center team. This position reports to the Director of Enterprise Product
Planning located at Shakopee, MN.
In this role the Program/Project Manager will be responsible
for the following:
The product planning process for Shakopee Mission
Developing a three-year product roadmap.
Interfacing with customers and gathering requirements.
Communicating product requirements to internal and
Negotiating product schedules and resource trade-offs with
Participate in long term strategic and portfolio planning.
As As the Mission Critical Roadmap
owner for the PLM team, the candidate will be required to:
Interface with all functional areas
of the company involved in our product development process.
Primary interface with engineering
will be regular communication with the Advanced Drive Development Engineering team and
active participation in their process.
Main responsibility is to work with
the PLM and engineering teams to create and maintain the 3-year product roadmap
by leading efforts to align technology roadmaps and product roadmaps to meet
customer requirements and support business objectives.
In order to perform the product
planning function, you will be required to participate with the PLM and
market research team in sizing market segments, defining additional
research required, and determine long range strategic trends.
communicating market and customer strategies clearly and concisely to support
products and features needed on the roadmap.
Success in the role also requires a
thorough understanding of Seagate’s development processes as well as a broad
understanding of our technology and the challenges of bringing it to
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering,
Computer Science, Math, Physics, or Information Technology.
10+ years of experience in product planning or
Experience working with external customers.
Creative thinking and the ability to communicate a
vision of future product needs are valuable assets.
Experience communicating to all levels of the
organizations up to executive level.
