Summary of position: Act as a member of a treatment team in the Intensive Community Based Acute Treatment program for children with serious emotional and behavioral difficulties. Focus on social, recreational, and behavioral needs of children. Ensure that the physical and emotional needs of children are being met on a daily basis. Committed to child centered, family focused culturally competent care and strength based treatment. Must have valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to transport children into the community.|
•Provide a safe and therapeutic environment for children.
•Plan and implement social and recreational activities for children.
•Participate in social and recreational activities for children.
•Support teacher by assisting individual students with academics.
•Meet children’s physical needs.
•Work as a part of a team to further the emotional, behavioral, and educational development of children at Walker.
•Implement treatment protocol established in children’s treatment plans.
•Apply Walker’s model of childcare, including therapeutic crisis intervention methods, and physical restraint, as necessary.
•Directly supervise children.
•Properly attend to administrative functions of childcare, including attending required meetings; completing assigned oral and written report writing tasks; and actively participating in supervision and professional development opportunities offered at Walker.
•Follow and implement all Walker policies and procedures.
