Summary: Provide direct and indirect patient care for a specific population including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation. Integrate education, research, management, leadership, and consultation into clinical roles. Function in collegial relationships with members of the health care team.

Description: Master's of Science degree required. Minimum of 5 years clinic nursing experience in the identified area of expertise preferred. DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of clinic office, human resource and patient care management concepts. Knowledge of state and federal regulations. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Critical thinking skills when utilizing the nursing process based on research and evidence-based outcomes, and Standards of Practice. Expertise in clinical skills related to the patient population being served. Competency in decision-making for emergent situations. Competency in the management of critical patient situations. Knowledge of how to access and utilize available resources. Knowledge of system policies and procedures. Demonstrate patient advocacy which ensures patient's rights to privacy, safety, and confidentiality. Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license by the State Board of Nursing in the state of practice or compact privileges under the multi-state Nurse Licensure Compact agreement. Unrestricted medical staff membership at Poudre Valley Hospital and/or Medical Center of the Rockies, with appropriate practice privileges. If primary practice facility is not PVH or MCR, then appropriate documentation must be submitted showing privileges at the primary practice facility. Allied Health credentialing through PVH and/or MCR Medical Staff Services office required. If primary practice facility is not PVH or MCR, then appropriate documentation must be submitted showing credentials have been reviewed and approved by the primary practice facility. Prescriptive authority as appropriate, per medical staff service privileging process. On hire and annual verification of credentials in the National Practitioner Data Base, verification of certification by the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center), licensing verification by the State Board of Nursing, search of the HSS, EPLS, and DEA systems. Relevant life support training as determined by assigned department. May include BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC or other certification as required by the department. .
