The hospital Controller directs the Accounting Department to ensure that it is providing effective and efficient service to the hospital operations team, Division, and other customers. This individual is responsible for ensuring high quality and accurate financial reporting is consistently met and that all hospital internal controls (including Sarbanes-Oxley HOS key controls) are operating effectively. This individual is also responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting hospital financial results and works with hospital leadership to achieve higher level of performance.


Education: · Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance required
· CPA preferred
· MBA or MACC preferred
ExExperience: · At least 3-5 years accounting experience in a hospital or other appropriate accounting experience such as 5-7 years in hospital related Internal Audit will be considered
· Minimum 2 years in management/supervisory experience
· Proven track record in achieving high performance results

· Accounting practices – is educated on and follows Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and HCA Accounting Policies (APGs)

· Tactical execution – deploys and directs resources appropriately (e.g. cost containment, performance improvement projects, etc.) as directed by VP Financial Services, CFO, and CEO
· Policies & Procedures – articulates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems
· PC skills – demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word) and others as required (i.e. Business Objects, DSS costing)
· Financial management – applies tools and processes to successfully manage to budget
· Career trajectory – demonstrates skills and initiative to develop into future VP Finance/CFO role
