The Senior Manager of Analytics provide and manage data-driven solutions to all stages of analytical projects (e.g. identifying the business question, identifying data, specifying methodology, task prioritization, developing insights, communicating results etc…). The Senior Manager requires sufficient business knowledge and understanding of analytical techniques to supervise the work of others in creating and articulating data-driven solutions that inform decision making for internal clients, and in developing methods or processes for implementation. This management position is intensely client-facing and will be expected to manage stakeholder relationships through direct and routine interaction with the senior leadership of internal clients.


Manage and lead efforts which provide analytical support to the Marketing, Enrollment Management, Student Services, Student Operations and Finance departments while using quantitative methodologies.

Statistical modeling (e.g. time series, survival, discrete dependent variable)

Forecasting (new students, retention, graduation, dissertation and total students)

Resource staffing and scheduling

Customer relationship management (e.g. customer segmentation, life time value, etc…)

Cross-channel marketing (e.g. DRTV, Web, Direct Mail) and campaign performance analysis

(e.g. allocation of market spend, channel performance, targeting, etc…)

Assessing potential of future marketing and business process initiatives

Data governance (e.g. defining metrics for new reports, database management, etc…)

Stochastic simulation

Test design and analysis

Preparation of complex transactional data

Mathematical optimization (linear programming, non-linear programming, integer


Writing performance reviews for direct reports.

Developing career development plans for direct


Periodic assessments of team structure to ensure all stakeholders are being served efficiently and effectively

Participate in the recruitment process for open requisitions on the team

Graduate degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Quantitative MBA or related field required.

7 or more years experience in analytics role.

3 or more years experience in project management

Prior people management experience

Demonstrated experience with statistical modeling and forecasting

Demonstrated ability with building and maintaining client relationships

Prior experience using one or more of the following statistical/mathematical programming/simulation software: R, SPSS, SAS, AMPL

Must be highly motivated and instinctively takes initiative

Must have experience in a client-facing role

Consulting experience is a plus

Must be able to work across organizational and geographical boundaries as required and have the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

Must have experience managing multiple projects at the same time.
