This position is a Human Resources Training Coordinator at the Department of Health and Human Services . Duties:
This position serves as the Human Resources Training Coordinator. Responsibilities include:

developing, planning, scheduling and organizing training programs;

facilitating training program sessions; and,

coordinating the regular review and updating of human resource policies and developing new human resource policies.

Competencies:Required for the first day of work:
Knowledge of theories and best practices in human resources field such as, but not limited to, recruitment and selection, employee development, performance management and discipline, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disability Act (ADA) and policy development.

Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

Knowledge of principles of adult learning and knowledge and skill in the use of techniques and methods for ensuring the transfer of training.

Skill in researching and developing training program content, training materials and learning aids.

Strong presentation and course facilitation skills.

Strong writing skill including knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.

The ability to coach and motivate others to improve their knowledge or skills.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, adult education, communications or a directly-related field.

Three years of progressively responsible human resources experience with a minimum of two years in developing and facilitating training.

Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR) and/or Training (e.g., CPLP) is preferred.

Other combinations of related education and work experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
