We are currently looking for an individual that is able to be cross trained to function as a veterinary technician/assistant as well as capable of handling the receptionist desk for our small animal clinic. The position is full time, with the expected reception time to be two to two and half days a week.
Reception Duties include :
Duties include answering all incoming calls, taking messages for doctors, making appointments for surgery and boarding, adding new client/patient information into the computer, checking out clients, verifying all charges have been entered into the computer, organizing prescription requests for the technicians to fill, greeting all incoming clients, maintaining and filing medical charts, taking payments for accounts receivable.
Assistant Duties include :
Veterinary assistants are responsible for the initial work up of all client visits including initial patient history, TPR, weight and routine lab test collection and preparation. Also responsible for animal restraint in the rooms, filling all prescriptions, and entering the charges for all office visits and hospitalized cases.
Responsible for medicating hospitalized and boarding animals. Also for assisting in surgery from induction to clean up, performing dentals, obtaining and running pre-surgical lab work. Also expected to be willing and able to assist the kennel employees on occasion as needed in a relief capacity as well.
Salary commensurate with experience.
