Technical Writer

Candidates MUST have an active TS SCI with Poly to be considered

Job Description:

Responsible for the preparation, revie w , revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system opera t i ons, testing, a nd user documentation. Writes and edits technical documentation for a ll of the project's hardware and softw a r e to include installation, configuration and how-to documentation. Creates code documentation for software; produces implementation guides and e n d -user g u i d es for capabilities; provides fiel d , data definition, and data flow documentation and formats technical publications from pam p h l ets, technical drawings, and consultations w ith technical pers o nn el and other av a i l able resources.

Understands basic concepts, responsible for writing tech n i cal copy for various types of documents for a progra m / project of similar complexity

Responsible for prepa r i n g and maintaining operations documentation, u ser guides and manuals and technical publications

Responsible for prep a r ing r eports, responses, and briefings targe t e d to a wide range of audiences

Works with developers to produce quality documentation and traini n g materials

Coordinates layout and design of documents

Works on all phases of documentation

Education / Experience:

Two (2) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scop e , typ e , and complexity within the Federal Government is required. Associat e ' s degree in a technical d i s cipline from an accredited college or university is required. Two (2) years of additional technical writing experience may be substituted for an Associat e ' s degree.

One year of standard Agency office automation tools (i.e., Microsoft Product Suite)
