The University Affiliated Research Center's (UARC) mission is to perform strategic multi-disciplinary, integrative research and science that supports NASA's long-term mission requirements. The Analyst-Programmer will work with fellow developers to support an internationally recognized team conducting cutting-edge research on automating portions of the nation's air transportation system under NASA's Airspace Systems Program. The position is based at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California.
PhD, MS, or BS degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautics or related scientific discipline, plus directly relevant professional experience.
Working knowledge or familiarity with aircraft performance modeling or air traffic management.
Demonstrated advanced proficiency in JAVA and scripting languages such as Python or Matlab.
Demonstrated proficiency in database management systems such as MySQL.
Background and experience in numerical analysis, algorithms, statistical analysis, and scientific computation.
