Accounting Assistant
Requisition Number P2429
Location Custom - Phillips, WI
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of accounting tasks including processing accounts payable invoices, verifying data for month end, etc.
- Prepares information that may involve the use of mathematical computations
- Works with customers / vendors on billing discrepancies and credits
- Generates and in some cases prepares daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports
- Operates PC and applicable software packages
- Files and maintains accurate records
- Supports accounting coordinator with department goals and objectives
- Gather Audit documents requested for audits
- Accounts Receivable invoicing
- Post vouchers upon receipt
- Comply all customer information and create customer summaries for strategic review
- Manager American Express & Procurement Cards
- Provides overflow and backup support for corporate Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- 1099 Reporting Maintain W-9’s for 1099 reporting
- Maintain information for 1099s and process 1099s at the end of the year
- Update, print, save and route Quote log reports at each month closing
- Update, print, save and route New Business Report and prepare month end report
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications - Education & Experience
- Associate Degree in related area or equivalent mix of education and experience
- One to two years accounting assistance experience
- One year working in manufacturing environment
Qualifications - Skills & Competencies
- Understanding of company’s manufacturing system
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills
- Knowledge of accounting activities (i.e. debits / credits)
