- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Previous experience preferred.
JOB SUMMARY: Assists in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management according to practice site protocol.

Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of a medical assistant program required. License/Certification: Health Care Assistant registration required. X-ray technician registration may be required at some clinics.
Experience: One year prior experience in a medical clinic or clinical setting required, or successful completion of an externship from an accredited medical assistant program.
Skills: Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment. Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications as directed. Skill in taking vital signs. Skill in maintaining records and recording test results. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient information. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to read, understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate clearly in person or over the telephone. Ability to physically perform the essential job functions.
