PRIMARY REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/POSITION OVERVIEW Reporting to the National Director of Development (who is based in Florida), oversee the daily operations of AFHU's Northern California and Pacific Northwest Regional office including one current staff member. Plan, implement and evaluate the annual and planned giving campaigns, major and principal gifts, and foundation and corporate giving programs for the region. Supervise all aspects of the regional campaign to ensure fundraising goals are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES * Hire, supervise and evaluate regional staff; oversee and manage the day-to-day office operations. * Develop and implement a comprehensive campaign infrastructure, strategy, and plan including principal and major gifts, planned giving, special events, direct mail, and foundation giving. * Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects. * Oversee all events including educational programs, parlor meetings, community events and quarterly regional board meetings.

  • Attend Senior Management meetings. * Build collaborative relationships, both internally and externally in order to expand and increase philanthropic support within the region. * Identify, cultivate and recruit regional board members. * Provide support and direction for regional staff in developing and executing regional fundraising plans; establish processes that will ensure staff accountability, promote best practices, trust, and teamwork.
  • Work closely with Regional Board President and lay leaders. * Perform other tasks as directed by the National Director of Development. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS * Minimum of 10 years of successful fundraising and management experience * Significant experience in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of community leaders and donors * Proven track record of providing strategic leadership and daily management of a fundraising office * Outstanding volunteer recruitment and stewardship skills * Advanced knowledge of fundraising, donor relations and public relations concepts, principles, procedures and techniques, preferably coupled with familiarity with Israel-based philanthropy and/or the Bay Area philanthropic community * Ability to serve as a team member to achieve organizational goals * Ability and willingness to periodically work during evenings and weekends and to travel locally and domestically up to 50% of the time TO APPLY Please send resume and cover letter to Pamela Cook, Search Consultant at develsearch@gmail.com.
