About the Job:
Responsible for leading and building a team of process engineers performing a variety of engineering tasks relating to petroleum refinery operation. The right candidate will handle a wide range of engineering projects, in accordance with our client's policies, safety, design standards and procedures. Must be able to work independently and make sound engineering decisions and recommendations. This position will require direct interfacing with the client and an understanding of the processes sufficiently enough to recognize related areas of work within the client's facilities.
A key responsibility as a member of multi-disciplinary petroleum refinery project teams is the bidding and development of related projects. As the Lead Process Engineer this individual will have the responsibility to direct engineering teams on projects from conceptual design through permitting, site construction, start-up and acceptance testing. Will complete assigned engineering projects in accordance with approved permits, defined Scopes-of-Work, project schedule and within budget limitations while coordinating activities of the engineering team, partners, contractors, and equipment suppliers.
Some additional responsibilities include:
Assuring effective utilization of engineering personnel, and technical quality. Participate in the design of a process unit, including establishing process design basis, development of process options and optimization of selected design to implement, modify, and maintain petroleum refinery processes. Prepare specifications and operating instructions for processing equipment. Develop process flow diagram to define heat and material balance. Develop process specifications, e.g. distillation columns, pressure vessels, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and fired heaters. Maintain effective communication with project team members and with the client
Training and Experience:
15+ years of experience required,
BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or related discipline,
PE registration desirable
