This position is essential to create and maintain a new web experience for Boxee. It will be a mixture of Backend and Application development. We're a small team, so the more hats you can wear the better.
Responsibilities
Plan and execute new features that scale
Maintain our internal framework
Improve and maintain our development environment and release system
Monitor overall site performance, stability, and health.
Skills
3 years experience working on a high volume website
Fluent in PHP and MySQL
Strong communication skills
Expertise with MVC methodologies required
A history working in a cache-heavy environment required
An unhealthy obsession with building efficient, clean, and modular code and data structures
An innate understanding of the issues surrounding large-volume websites and scalability
Experience creating scrapers and dealing with massive amounts of data
Experience with HTML/CSS/Javascript is a huge plus
Plus: Experience with EC2/S3
Plus: Having a hacking mentality
