The Quality Engineer will manage first time yield improvement, nonconformance and scrap reduction for a commercial engine program. In this role, you will be integral in establishing a quality system for successful New Product Introduction (NPI). You will be a site focal / expert to conduct Root cause analysis and be an integral member of the Quality committee, managing projects and seeking team involvement.

Essential Responsibilities
In addition, you will:

  • Support and meet production schedules, driving productivity, and quality initiatives, and manage the areas within budget guidelines and controls
  • Determine the proper manufacturing processes for assembly, machining, inspection, and test of required components
  • Support all initiatives of compartment assembly areas, such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
  • Encourage and maintain a safe work environment
  • Schedule, resolve issues, track availability, and advise regarding materials
  • Design and implement processes and systems for control and replenishment of materials
  • Promote customer satisfaction and develop positive customer relationships
  • Be responsible for attaining all aspects of production operation including quality, lean, and team development in assigned areas
  • Provide direction, leadership, and material support for assigned production area

    Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a High School Diploma / GED and a minimum of 4 additional years of manufacturing experience in a manufacturing role)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Ability to make data driven decisions and utilize Six Sigma and Lean tools
  • Knowledge of safety agency regulations
  • Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Leadership Program Graduate (GE employees only)
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments
  • Knowledge of ISO / quality procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Six Sigma training (GE employees only)
