The Town of Gilbert is seeking motivated self-starters to fill the seasonal position of Grounds Maintenance Worker. This position performs general and/or specialized maintenance work involving mowing, landscaping, irrigation and general maintenance of Town properties, parks, athletic fields, irrigation systems and related facilities. The Grounds Maintenance Worker also ensures that assigned equipment is in proper working order, inspected for damage and cleaned; and completes various forms, including activity logs.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in the maintenance of a variety of equipment and grounds systems; and will be safety-conscious and manage time wisely. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the interpersonal and communication skills needed to build positive relationships with customers and co-workers, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
The Grounds Maintenance Worker position requires a High school diploma or GED; and six months of experience and/or training in grounds maintenance, athletic field maintenance, irrigation system maintenance, equipment operation, and manual labor; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
The seasonal Grounds Maintenance Worker position represents an excellent opportunity to gain a wide breadth of experience in a high volume work environment.
Licenses & Certifications:
Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Work Schedule: this is a seasonal position, from April - November, 32 hours per week. Weekend work may be required.
