Hiring Rate: $45,498

The professional nurse will provide primary, preventive and rehabilitative care to individuals and families in the Child Health, Adult Health, STD and Family Planning clinics.

Examples of Duties:

The nurse demonstrates and implements techniques of nursing care through preventive, primary, supervision and counseling services to infants, children, and adults. This position will include clinical work where physical exams are performed will assist the Physician Extenders in the Primary Care clinics. The nurse assesses the patient’s needs, develops basic nursing plans, and patient’s care goals; explains Physician Extender’s findings, and insures that instructions are being followed. The nurse will provide care coordination, teaching, and supportive counseling in the Clinical Programs. Work includes considerable contact with other community agencies and physicians. Nurse is responsible for making referrals to appropriate resources. This position will also assist clinical staff with the future implementation of electronic medical records.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. Degree in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and one year of Public Health Nursing experience; or graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and two years of professional nursing experience including one year in public health; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by N.C. Board of Nursing.
