This is an in-training position for a Financial Services Specialist 3.
All levels of the FSS series are encouraged to apply. The Aging and Disability Services Administration (ADSA) is within the Department of Social and Health Services. ADSA assists adults with disabling conditions due to aging, disease or accident. We also assist children and adults with developmental disabilities to gain access to the high quality, cost effective supports that they need. ADSA is structured into four organizational divisions.

This non-perm position is within the division of Home and Community Services (HCS) in Colville. HCS plans, develops, determines eligibility for and provides long-term care services to meet the needs of persons with disabilities and the elderly, with priority attention to low-income individuals and families.

Duties:
HCS Financial Service Specialists determine eligibility for cash, medical, Basic Food Assistance and Long Term Care (LTC) benefits for individuals who receive or apply for long-term care services administered by ADSA. LTC services administered by ADSA include the following:
Nursing Facility Care
COPES Services
Assisted Living Services
Adult Family Home Services
Medicaid Personal Care Services
Adult Residential Care Services
Chore Services

Qualifications:
Financial Services Specialist 1 Level

A Bachelor's degree.
OR

Experience examining/processing loan applications, medical insurance or rehabilitation claims, unemployment insurance claims, or in a customer service job where the major duties involve public contact, or a job providing staff support in financial eligibility determination will substitute, year for year, for education.
OR

One year of equivalent out-of-state experience conducting financial eligibility determination for public assistance to include financial, medical and food stamp programs.
***Note: Employees shall be advanced to Financial Services Specialist 2 after completing six months of satisfactory service as a Financial Services Specialist 1 and satisfactory completion of the Financial Services Specialist Training Plan.

Financial Services Specialist 2 Level
Six months of experience as a Financial Services Specialist 1 and completion of the agency's Financial Services Specialist Training Program.
OR

One year of equivalent out-of-state experience conducting financial eligibility determination for public assistance to include financial, medical and food stamp programs.
***Note: Employees shall be advanced to Financial Services Specialist 3 after completing nine months of satisfactory service as a Financial Services Specialist 2 and participation in the Financial Services Specialist Training Plan.

Financial Services Specialist 3 level

Nine months of experience as a Financial Services Specialist 2
OR

Fifteen months of experience as a Financial Services Specialist and satisfactory completion of the agency's Financial Services Specialist Training Program.
