Join a winning team! We have an immediate opportunity for a UNIX/Linux System Administrator supporting the Army Corp of Engineers (ACE) Central Processing Center (CPC) at Portland, OR. In this position you will Install, maintain, configure, and provide performance monitoring and tuning for Solaris and LINUX servers. Ensure high availability of servers and infrastructure supported. Manages network and system performance of a multi-user computing system. Responsibilities include designing the computing infrastructure, providing technical assistance and consulting to the users, and developing tools for managing the system. Design and develop server disaster recovery strategies. Troubleshoot high profile network performance issues utilizing root-cause analysis and recommending appropriate action. Develops policies and standards for allocation and use of computer equipment and resources. Ensures data integrity by evaluating, proposing, implementing and managing software and hardware solutions. May recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.
*BS/BA Degree and a minimum of 6 years of directly related work experience. Or, an additional 4 years of work experience can be substituted in lieu of the degree.
*Minimum of 4 years experience working with UNIX/Linux Systems Administration
*Experience Performing System Administration duties to include patching, upgrades, backups, and troubleshooting.
*Must possess or be able to obtain a Security + Certification within 45 days of start
*Minimum of Interim Secret is required to start.
*Current DoD Secret clearance.
*Ability to Work with different hardware and software vendors to determine solutions
*Good understanding of Networking in an TCP/IP WAN environment is a plus
*Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems and speak fluently to management regarding solutions and options for problem resolution.
*Ability to work closely with a variety of customers including; Infrastructure technical resources, Application technical resources, end users, and vendor sales/infrastructure professionals.
