The National Broadcast Supervisor is responsible for managing the National Broadcast Buyers and Assistant Buyers and overseeing account activities. This position is responsible for training and development of their staff
Operate as the back up to the Associate Director relating to client relationships. Stay knowledgeable about clients’ current activities and future plans.
Train and develop staff through performance management and giving consistent feedback. Identify with staff, developmental opportunities and help staff to work toward their professional goals. Collaborate with Associate Director on any employee issues or concerns.
Train Buyers and Assistants in all the nuances of negotiation as well as all Nielsen services and how to use them.
Build a rapport with clients and educate them about the Network Group and Initiative.
Deliver responsive and superior client customer service.
Develop planning costs for all dayparts of network, cable and syndication.
Negotiate promotions and added value on all buys.
Promote an open working environment where opinions, views and ideas can be shared.
Maintain and grow relationships with the Networks.
Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent work experience
5+ years of buying network, cable and syndication with Initiative or another Media company or experience within the Media Industry. Experience in negotiating upfront, scatter and opportunistic buys.
Proven leadership ability and/or previous experience managing a staff
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven superior customer service skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Desktop software, specifically Excel and Word, PowerPoint preferred
Proficiency with Donovan or equivalent Inventory Management system
Knowledge and understanding of Nielsen services
Demonstrated ability to think and execute “out of the box” ideas
Strong developed relationships with the Networks
Ability to be a team player
