Plans, coordinates, trains, and implements maintenance programs for designated regional terminals. Responsible for implementing the SAP Maintenance Work Order system, developing a preventative maintenance program for the terminal assets, and training at the terminal level. Direct the maintenance activities of the assigned craft in their area of responsibility. Responsible for ensuring that company and contract maintenance employees are in compliance with safety policies and procedures. Analyze all work requests to determine necessary repair or replacement, and advise as to estimate manpower and material requirements. Determine needs for maintenance materials, warehouse stock, rental equipment, and/or contract services. Help in the counseling, training, development and appraisal of the performance of maintenance hourly employees in their assigned craft. Assist in the development and coordination of API 653 tank inspection and repairs. Attend necessary meetings to assist in accomplishing scheduled work and resolving key and important maintenance problems. Hold toolbox safety meetings and inspections, necessary to achieve safety goals while communicating changes in company policy, procedures, and objectives to employees. Provide judgment on the repair versus replacement of equipment. Supervise and participate in the development of reliable and efficient equipment in order to better our reliability. Analyze problems that may arise and find a workable solution that is practical, as well as cost efficient. Implement safe work habits for all employees and supervise outside service contractors so they might function efficiently. Ensure that the necessary equipment is ordered and an adequate supply of parts is maintained in stock by utilizing SAP and interaction with the Warehouse and/or suppliers. Maintain and evaluate equipment history through the SAP system. Monitor quality and quantity of work being done by outside repair shops. Prepare monthly activities report for management. Collaborate with lead technicians in problem solving to achieve total reliability in the most economical means. Perform all necessary functions to complete maintenance projects. Regularly audit the work order system for volume, costs, flow, proper application of the priority hierarchy, and manpower usage. Develop and maintain databases and hard files essential for the effective operation of the planning and scheduling areas of responsibility. Develop and publish reports for management pertaining to costs, manpower utilization, productivity, reliability and forecasting. Reports will range from region-wide all the way down to equipment-specific. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Reduce potential risk to public safety and environment and minimize company liability. Improve operations efficiency and financial profitability through well maintained facilities.

Bachelor’s degree required. Experience considered in lieu of degree. 8-10 years technical knowledge of terminal equipment, mechanical knowledge, and field experience required. Prior supervisory experience required; General knowledge of operations, training of correct installations and repair of equipment required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft products. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to independently proof work for accuracy. Ability to manage time and scheduling to meet appropriate deadlines. Ability to work successfully in stressful situations, and manage multiple tasks. Ability to use awareness of relationships and impacts of data trends and elements to appropriately recommend actions that impact both near and long-term company operations and profits. Ability to independently conduct job accountabilities. Ability to take directions from supervisors. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
