Scope/Purpose of Position:
The Product Manager manages existing products & services in addition to creating and integrating new products and product changes. In this role, the Product Manager conducts margin analysis, industry/market research, and in-life performance measurement to determine product demand, positioning, viability, and profitability. The Product Manager is responsible for understanding Optus’ target customer markets, customer business issues, market challenges and ensures the Optus portfolio of products and services effectively enables these customer segments to enhance their business performance by addressing their top challenges. The Product Manager is responsible for identifying gaps in the current Optus portfolio based on the needs of our target customers, evaluating new product and service options to fill these gaps, negotiating agreements with new product/service partners, launching new offers and managing the on-going partner relationships to success. The Product Manager will create formal business cases and product descriptions and work as a facilitator between the various internal organizations to ensure product policy and processes are negotiated, documented, and executed accurately. The Product Manager leads regularly scheduled meetings centered on system and operational requirements for product changes and new product development. The Product Manager develops cost models, pricing analyses and recommendations and product P&L forecasts. They also anticipate potential problems and provide effective solutions in reaction to the application of concepts, techniques, knowledge, or processes developed to support the new product or product change.

Responsibilities: · Coordinate inter-departmental efforts with Marketing, Sales, Service & Operations · Coordinate meetings, document meetings, and create action items · Market research and information gathering · Research vertical markets · Research market penetration, market share, and revenue projections · Project manage action items and coordinate execution · Project manage all product integration/launches/changes throughout implementation

  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Identify business and operational requirements based upon the business requirements & objectives of each product
  • Develop product and services strategy
  • Build strong relationships with various internal departments; including Marketing, Sales, Services, and Operations
  • Lead the development, approval, training, and communications of new products/product changes
  • Models appropriate behavior in regards to Optus’ Core Values and Code of Ethics Policies and supports Optus’ team approach to Quality Other duties or task as assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university or equivalent experience. Two to four years of experience in a product management role regardless of industry or a role in the communications technology industry creating and managing relationships with manufacturers Extensive experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Strong organizational and administrative skills and a positive, professional attitude in a progressive, challenging work environment Must be able to show strong leadership abilities and a history of leadership in a team-oriented work environment and have a strong desire to be a part of a winning organization that allows for employee growth and development

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Periodic travel may be required to meet with current and potential vendors, manufacturers and possibly customer visits. Ability to read, write, and communicate both orally and written to external and internal customers and employees. Ability to work together effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. Normal vision and normal hearing with or without correction. Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs., periodically, throughout workday. Ability to stand, walk, climbs stairs, sit in one place, squat and kneel continuously throughout day. Ability to reach, bend, and twist continuously throughout day. Ability to use hands and feet together for repetitive, coordinated motions. Ability to use hands for gripping and squeezing, as well as repetitive hand and wrist motions.
