Scope of Position
Gehry Technologies seeks full-time paid summer research interns for 2012, for 2-4 month period beginning in June 2012. These research interns should be highly motivated and technically exceptional students with a design background or interest. They will explore and prototype new software technologies for design, analysis, and construction of buildings. These prototypes will particularly focus on creating new advanced software in the following domains:
Data Mining and Information Visualization
Start date and duration are negotiable, but duration should normally not exceed four months.
As a member of GT’s Research group, you will:
Work with the Director of Research to identify and plan proof-of-concept prototypes for next-generation digital design applications
Program and script functional prototypes of new software tools
Work with the development team to propose paths to market for new technologies
Assist the research group in other tasks as necessary
Skills / Expertise
Background or interest in design computation or computational geometry
Expert understanding of 3D- design tools such as Rhino, Digital Project, Revit, Grasshopper, Maya, etc.
2+ years experience scripting Visual Basic, Rhinoscript, Python, C# or comparable; 4+ preferrable
Web Services experience a plus
C++ or Java experience a plus
BS/BA/BArch in Architecture, design-related engineering field, or Computer Science
Current Masters or PhD student in Architecture, Computer Science, Computational Design, or related field.
