The chemical technician II is responsible for the manufacture of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) in a safe, compliant and efficient manner. He/she has the experience to perform all required operations at a high level. In addition, he/she will be capable of assuming additional responsibilities on shift such as shift leader when required. He/she will perform regulatory related activities and assist management in safety, technical and regulatory tasks including training.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Safely operate all equipment according to procedure and regulations at all times. Must follow all SOPs & batch records as written and report all exceptions according to procedure. Maintain good housekeeping within the facility. Perform incidental and preventive maintenance and assist maintenance personnel in related activities. Transport materials using manual and power assisted vehicles within the interior and grounds of the site. Powered vehicle certification required. Assist materials management in related activities as required. Perform in process analytical testing, laboratory bench scale and pilot plant scale operations as required. Collect and record equipment and process data as instructed. Participate in PHA and incident investigations. ERT Team Membership (team job restrictions determined by medical). Perform shift coordinator and DEA coordinator responsibilities as needed. Operate SAP for production and manufacturing operations as required. Conduct incident investigations as required.

Educational Requirements High School Diploma or GED. Advanced technical training or relevant work experience may be judged to be equivalent.

Desirable:
Associates Degree or higher in chemistry, engineering or another relevant technical discipline. Required Experience & Technical Requirements - Math skills necessary to perform batch record calculations. - Communication: Must be able to clearly speak, read, write and understand the English language. Clear and open communication required between colleagues in person, meeting settings, via telephone and two-way radio. - Ability to perform computer related operations using the windows operating system environment.
