Reporting to the Program Manager, Survivor Outreach Services (SOS), the Support Coordinator will provide comprehensive assistance and support to current Surviving Families as well as the Army Reserve Family Programs (ARFP) staff to include but not limited to counseling referrals, case management training and administrative support. The Support Coordinator will serve as the subject matter expert in Survivor support issues and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Support Coordinator positions demands competence and skill at performing the following duties:
ü provide information to the community to increase community aware an d knowledge of the SOS services
ü provide information to leadership and the community on issues impacting survivors
ü coordinate with the Family Programs Director, Casualty Assistance Center Specialist and the SOS Financial Counselors to review cases, identify trends, coordinate benefit briefings, orientations sessions and workshops, and will network to enhance local program delivery with outside agencies
ü appropria te for assistance and follow-up
ü identify various resources to refer participants to support groups, life skill education and supportive counseling services
ü provide information and referral sources for res pite care services as requested
ü assist families by providing information regarding eligible benefits and developing plans of a ction based upon customer needs
ü utilize Army OneSource and systems to assess trends and identify additional resources for clients and will develop informal partnerships with military, civilian and non-government al agencies to leverage support
ü ensure all case records include follow-up, outreach, training and reports and those procedures are in compliance with standards in accordance with appropriate SOS program manuals, Army Reserve policies and procedures
ü analyze data from interviews and customer/client interactions to identify client needs and make referrals as
ü analyze data from surveys, tracking systems, web sites and Management Information Systems to determine trends or areas requiring further study and to assess program effectiveness

ü R equired to remain abreast of research and policy and legislat ive changes impacting survivors

Education & Experience, Clearance, Travel, Certs/Licenses

The Support Coordinator must possess :
ü A baccalaureate degree in behavioral science in the area of Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or Sociology, or related field from an accre dited college or university
ü With a minimum two (2) years’ experience in the principles and techniques of interviewing, assessment, case management and the Crisis Intervention Modality.
ü Candidate must be a U.S citizen

Minimum Security Clearance -Confidential Clearance:
ü - National Agency Check (NAC-I)

Physical Description/Demands
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs . and have the ability to travel 25% nationwide .
