Operation Engineer jobs
Authentic8 is looking for a high-energy Development Operations Engineer that can assist with Production Operations as well as handle basic Build Engineering. Ideally you would consider yourself more DevOps than SysOps. You need to be highly skilled in all aspects of managing Linux servers, not afraid to write code, and comfortable in a startup environment. You must also have a strong understanding of software development practices and be able to build and support a large hosted service in production.
This position is located at our offices in Mountain View, CA.
Duties
• Identifying and deploying logging and monitoring servers for the hosted service
• Build monitoring and diagnostic tools to support operations, development, and support staff
• Automate everything from builds, to code pushes, to alerting systems
• Work with engineering to ensure the product has the proper feature set to enable support in production
• Tracking third party code updates
Requirements
• Linux and BSD expert
• Experience managing large deployments (hundreds to thousands of machines)
• System administration wizardry
• Web server setup and maintenance (Apache, lighttpd, nginx)
• Ability to write scripts in more than one language (Bash, Python, Perl, etc.)
• Database server management (PostgreSQL, mySQL, sqlite, Oracle)
