Laboratory Technical Support Specialist SCC Soft Computer -

POSITION SUMMARY:
Initial contact for all client tasks received verbally or via faxes and is responsible for properly documenting the task into TMS and performing simple troubleshooting using provided tools.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives logs and properly documents new tasks into TMS.
Performs simple troubleshooting of system problems using provided tools.
Immediately alerts appropriate SCC staff of client system critical conditions.
Redirects tasks to other technical departments as directed.
Passes tasks to Client CSR after required initial documentation is completed.
Identifies commonly reoccurring problems relating to hardware and software and reports these to the Team Lead. Properly timesheets against appropriate and SCC tasks.
Reviews assigned workload to assesses potential delays in the delivery of solutions.
Updates Voice Mail message daily and responds to messages left in a timely manner.
Provides meaningful recommendations for improving team productivity and the overall effectiveness of the support effort.
Participates in corporate client service and technical training programs as assigned.
Complies with all approved procedures, directives and guidelines.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Education Required:
AA Degree in Healthcare related field or Technical Degree in Medical Assistant is highly desirable but not required. Relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
Experience Required:
Minimum 2 (two) years working in a hospital/clinical environment involved in specimen processing, phlebotomy or lab assistant. Previous experience in a service related field, clinical laboratory, or related computer position desired
