Hosted Services Engineer

The main purpose of a Hosted Services Engineer is to troubleshoot hosted services via ticket system and phone, mentor the Hosted Services Technicians and provide advanced customer support for commodity services. This position will report directly to the Hosted Services Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • • Provide technical support to hosting customers via ticket system (email) and telephone calls
  • • Research solutions to technical issues
  • • Work with Sales team members to ensure proper solutions/upgrades for customers
Position Requirements:
  • • Excellent customer service skills
  • • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • • 2-4 year(s) experience providing technical support in the hosting industry
  • • Linux (CentOS, Debian, Gentoo or other distributions) and Windows server administration
  • • Apache, FTP, MySQL/Postgres and PHP on Linux experience
  • • IIS, ASP, .NET, MSSQL on Windows experience
  • • Hosting control panel (cPanel, Plesk, etc.) experience
  • • Email (Postfix, Exim, dovecot, courier, mail enable, etc.) experience
  • • DNS (bind, mydns, powerdns, WindowsDNS, etc.) experience
  • • Broad understanding and troubleshooting of IT/Server related hardware
  • • Broad understanding and troubleshooting of IP based networks
  • • Broad understanding and troubleshooting of virtualization platforms (Xen, VZ, etc.)
  • • Time management and self-reliance
  • $50k-$60k/year starting rate
