Purchasing Buyer- Cedar Rapids, IA

This is a full time, exempt position.

Job Summary:

Procure capital equipment, raw materials, chemicals, MRO supplies and other miscellaneous items and services as required to maintain and support plant operations, production and engineering. Coordinates with Global Procurement on implementation of vendor sourcing agreements to fully maximize purchases with a focus on quality, service and cost management. Identify, evaluate and develop new supplier resources while maintaining strong relationships with current vendors. Adhere to and comply with all company guidelines and business ethics.

Essential Job Functions

1. Administers Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders within the company procurement system (Maximo).

2. Negotiates on a regular basis to maintain the lowest cost and best solution to meet plant objectives.

3. Communicate effectively with various levels of personnel, i.e., engineers, managers, operators, plant manager and department staff.

4. Analyze chemical trends and coordinate chemical deliveries on a daily basis to support plant operations.

5. Maintain a leadership role in the control of all incoming chemicals to verify product meets ADM quality system requirements.

6. Utilization & compliance of Global Procurement strategic sourcing agreements.

7. Assist with coordination of Maximo parts administration process to maintain the integrity of the maximo part numbering system and its use.

8. Create/Issue RFQ’s and verify supplier pricing and deliveries.

9. Perform daily work with minimal supervision.

10. Ability to use Microsoft Office proficiently.

11. Resolve discrepancies of receipts and invoices to purchase orders.

12. Assists other department staff of any discrepancies for resolution.

13. Evaluate orders in maximo system to assigned vendors.

14. Identify sources of supply to obtain most economical pricing and quality in support of production, maintenance and engineering.

15. Participate in scheduled department meetings and safety topics/discussions.

16. Cross train to assist with other duties as needed.

17. Participate in and provide support for all ADM safety programs.

18. Interfaces with engineers and vendors to specify definitions of materials and services as desired.

19. Complete ADM training and other classes as required.

20. Attend professional career seminars, leadership programs as requested.

21. Review and confirm (bidders/contractors) are in compliance with ADM Corn Division requirements

(OCIP, Contractor Agreement, T&M Agreement, CDMS and ISN and other insurance requirements.)

22. Attend Pre-bid meetings, Reviews request of bid packages for release.
23. May perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned.

Education/Training:
· College degree or equivalent of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing procurement.
· Participated in Leadership program or seminars.
