Laboratory Technician IV Opportunity

About the Position

Serves primarily as a lead technician, performing routine and specialized technical and some general support duties in specimen procurement, central processing, blood resources, anatomic pathology, and/or a technical section. Functions in on- and/or off-site service areas. May be required to accept on-call responsibilities.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:

Responsible for daily operations of assigned area.

Assists in selecting, training, orienting and evaluating staff. Prepares work schedules and makes recommendations for personnel actions.

May document competency of employees and provide feedback to appropriate managers and/or supervisors regarding progress.

Performs routine and/or specialized testing and procedures with supervision as appropriate.

Performs the duties of a Laboratory Technician II.

Performs a variety of duties at progressively greater skill levels under varying degrees of supervision; records results. May operate a variety of laboratory instruments.

May assist with autopsies and other duties as directed by the Coroner and/or pathologist.

Enters or retrieves data from established computer files.
