With constant pressure to do more with less, it’s imperative that executives have complete insight into their company’s operational and financial performance to make the most of opportunities and quickly resolve issues. West Monroe is seeking an Sr. Manager to join our Operations Excellence Practice to help lead organizations define, implement, and measure programs to ensure enterprise risk management, deliver value through M&A, ensure adoption, streamline processes and systems, and remain compliant. The Consulting Manager will help lead projects in the areas of Business Transformation and Business Process Optimization and Re-Engineering.
Senior Manager level consultants at West Monroe Partners have three main areas of responsibility:
1. Client Delivery
Communicate and report project status to C-level executives and management, including budget, risks, issues, etc.
Report budget and finances
Mentor and manage teams of younger consultants to be able to keep project on time as well as QA of work done by the team.
Understand the underlying technologies being used on a project to be able to direct how to design, develop, test, and implement a technical development project
Quickly respond to client requests for immediate issues while also being able to drive projects to completion
Analyze each client's specific request and determine the underlying problem and recommend proper solutions
On larger engagements, be able to work with larger management teams and determine independencies between the WMP project and other initiatives
2. Business Development
Identify through marketing tactics such as mail campaigns, and phone calling programs to build prospect awareness of WMP and identify opportunities
Actively participate in business development with prospective clients
Understand business needs and requirements and help turn those goals into concrete projects and detailed proposals
Creating work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for prospects
Actively build a professional network and affiliate network in the local community
3. Practice Development
Identify strengths and issues; drive and develop better behavior to create strong consultants
Participate actively in the recruiting process for other consultants
Drive the development/enhancement of WMP’s methodologies and approaches to client delivery
Coach and manage other consultants and participate active in the performance expectation process
Bachelor of Science in accounting, finance, business operations or similar
Consulting Manager with 8 + total years of business process, finance and technology consulting experience.
Strong project management methodology background, including schedule, scope, issue and risk management experience, change management, strategic planning and analysis
Must have experience managing a variety of teams, including small engagements as well as large initiatives. Should have experience estimating project work and cost.
Must have a desire and to develop new business and manage client relationships
Has experience or proficiency with finance and technology projects and has “been there, done that” experience.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and quality experience.
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
Strong communication skills to be able to work with clients and present to C-level executives.
Experience in developing work plans, project scopes, pricing estimates, and presentations to be able to assist in selling work to clients
Thoroughly and accurately understand issues and analyze the problem in a systemic fashion
