Supports the research, development and design of a wide range of enterprise Voice, Data and Unified Capabilities (UC) solutions to meet requirements as defined by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) and the customer.
  • Ensures compliance and adherence to DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide guidelines during the execution of project activities.
  • Develops and follows Standard operating Procedure (SOPs) and best business practices to ensure the developed solutions are deployed in accordance with DISA, JITC and manufacturer specifications
  • Creates engineering packages with required documentation for system deployments to be used by administrators implementing the solution
  • Provides subject matter expertise for engineering and implementation efforts as well as customer sponsored working groups. Focuses on ensuring compliance with the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process ( DIACAP )
  • Provides input to the customer to support DIACAP package development as required to obtain Authority to Connect (ATC)/Authority to Operate(ATO)
  • Supports the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process during project implementation. Assists in the development of customer responses to IA findings, including mitigation strategies and resolutions
  • Develops information systems assurance programs and control guidelines
  • Confers with and advises peers on administrative policies and procedures and resolving technical problems, priorities, and methods
  • Prepares activity and progress reports relating to the information systems audit function
  • Supports research including (but not limited to) market surveys, feasibility studies, technology infusion, future IT direction and upcoming technologies
  • Supports analysis including (but not limited to) network traffic patterns, security requirements, future growth requirements, feasibility for virtualization, resource requirements, risk mitigation, functional analysis, cost analysis, interface systems analysis, technical assessments, impact analysis, transition analysis, technology benchmarking, enterprise architecture analysis, and requirement analysis
  • Supports design including (but not limited to) solutions for incoming and existing customers, security posture considerations, system design, operating system design, database design, dataflow diagrams/documentation, detailed build process documentation, data modeling, network component/appliance design, telecommunications architecture design, and critical design review
  • Requirements & Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred
    • CISSP certification required
    • Two or more years of computer science, management information systems, or data security experience
    • Experience working with information and network security practices
    • Experience working with computer programming
    • Experience working with computer desktop packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
    • Experience working with operating systems
    • Experience working with security software packages
    • Experience working with security architecture
    • Experience working with the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process ( DIACAP )
    • Experience working with the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) a plus
    • Familiarity with Host Based Security System (HBSS) a plus
    • Ability to secure a Secret Clearance required
    Minimum Certification Required
    • Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent
    Preferred Certifications
    • ITIL v3 Foundation

    • Ability to work extremely flexible hours and support on-call duties and shift work is required
    • Military background a plus.
