OSD enables user experiences and drives customer value through continued innovation in search, media and online advertising. The broad range of products delivered by OSD includes Bing, MSN, and a full suite of Windows 8 applications, as well as advertiser and publisher solutions across PC, tablet and mobile devices.
We are looking for highly-qualified candidates who can play a key role within the OSD Strategy & Partnerships team by helping to analyze and evaluate global strategic partnerships.
Summary of position:
OSD maintains an open partnership strategy that relies on strategic global partners to help deliver superior online services. The Senior Business and Development Strategy Manager will be responsible for delivering business insights that evolve the current partnership strategy and drive the successful implementation and optimization of existing and future partnerships.
Design, development and implementation of business processes for data mining, analytics and reporting
Support and improve periodic business processes, including yearly planning, budgeting and quarterly forecasting along with related cross-group coordination and communication
Identify the data, metrics and trends that have the most impact on the business and make recommendations to influence those metrics and trends
Work with leadership to evolve the partner strategy including the development and refinement of our distribution business model
Assist with negotiating new partnerships as well as developing and evaluating new products and offerings, deal models, contracts and reporting requirements with business owners
Lead the performance reporting and analytics of our ongoing partner agreements
Drive the process and communications that facilitate the execution of existing and future partner agreements
Qualifications and Experience:
Excellent analytical, problem solving, creativity, organizational and communication skills with a strong partnering orientation
Detail oriented and thorough, with the ability to connect to the “big picture” and understand key trends and levers that drive the business
Aptitude for solving complex business problems and an ability to distill and communicate status and results across the division and to senior business and financial executives
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, reprioritizing as necessary to align with business needs
Industry knowledge and understanding of high-tech and Internet business models desired
Preferably, candidates will have advanced PC skills with specific expertise in relational databases (SQL) and power user features of Excel.
5+ years of demonstrated work experience in finance, economics, business operations, analytics or related business-oriented quantitative analytics
Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics or significant equivalent experience.
This is an ideal role for someone with very strong analytical skills, demonstrated strategic thinking as well as technical knowledge, project management, and leadership skills. This role will provide the candidate with a tremendous opportunity to learn and hone decision-making and leadership skills by working directly with our leadership team on our partnership strategy. Successful execution in this role will ensure visibility and provide the candidate with a broad overview of Microsoft’s online business.
