Cobalt, a division of ADP is seeking an Training Curriculum Developer.
This position will successfully identify, design, and deliver training programs to support both classroom and blended virtual instruction formats specific to technical and non-technical content. Works with assigned instructors and subject matter experts to identify and propose learning opportunities and solutions to ensure performance objectives are achieved by targeted audiences. This position will establish, own, and ensure the optimal design and development methodology and standards are applied to each assigned project. The instructional designer is responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of all Cobalt products and Service processes and content development tools and best practices, seek out, identify, and leverage new methodologies, theories, and concepts and incorporate into the practices of the Services Learning and Development team.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional Design & Development
Identifies appropriate instructional design strategies, approaches, delivery mechanisms, and objectives based on analysis of tasks, learners, and subject matter
Performs expert level of courseware creation and maintenance using a variety of online and offline tools
Conducts research and thorough needs assessments and recommends instructional approaches according to best practice methodology
Works closely with instructors and project teams to ensure that high-level need assessments are created and deployed.
Provides subject matter expertise to other instructors and Operations personnel on instructional design methodology, content, and emerging and best practices
Maintains all course materials to ensure accuracy and applicability to current products and revisions
Works with key Cobalt departments/resources to identify and maintain accurate Services course content
Applies best-practice expertise in instructional design and delivery mechanisms Instruction & Delivery
Conducts research and thorough needs assessments and recommends appropriate training strategy and content for a variety of topics relating to Services processes, tools, and Cobalt products
Utilizes existing tools and systems to compliment instruction (e.g. knowledge management, CRM, CobaltU)
Performs training for Services employees both in the class and online
Responsible for all session scheduling and logistics, including scheduling changes and communication
Conducts "train the trainer" classes to prepare others to provide instruction
Works with other Cobalt departments to identify and schedule SME resources to assist in training/knowledge sharing
Provides real-time product and process expertise to Services personnel as needed
Updates and/or creates necessary knowledge management content specific to key or assigned content
Program/Project Management
Represents Services in interdepartmental meetings and functions as it relates to assigned Services specific training (e.g. new product program teams, product launches, etc.) as required.
Conducts and presents needs analysis as it relates to the on-going L&D of Services personnel
Responsible for managing key L&D related instructional design and curriculum development projects for Services
Ensure completion of project deliverables and adherence to timelines
Proactively identify changes in work scope and ensure appropriate planning measures are taken with internal and external project team members to reassess and amend the scope of work requirement and timeline
Identifies and manages technology specific projects as it relates to the training function including working with IT, training, and vendors to ensure successful incorporation into training program
Provide full and accurate project communication with the internal clients and project teams
Manage day-to-day activities of multiple assigned projects including coordination of cross-functional teams as needed
Testing, Evaluation and Feedback
Develops content and administers mechanism for all student testing specific to all content offered
Provides timely feedback to management team on attendee participation and whether attendee(s) are successfully grasping content
Develops and maintains learner surveys and feedback mechanisms, including creation and analysis of survey results
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of adult-learning concepts, principles, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of learning management systems including design, configuration, participant tracking, and reporting requirements.
Knowledge of training industry standards (SCORM, AICC) for developing training content.
Thorough understanding around instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE
Knowledge of Internet software, including Internet Explorer and Netscape and associated plug-ins.
Knowledge of MS Office suite of products, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Extensive knowledge of multimedia authoring and web-based training methodologies and tools
Knowledge of automotive industry is preferred, but not required.
Maintain knowledge of all Cobalt products to facilitate education throughout the product life cycle.
Ability to apply knowledge management principles and programs
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, using, tact, judgment, and courtesy.
Demonstrated organization and time management skills
Ability to identify areas for improvement and formulate creative ideas on how to improve them.
Demonstrated ability to instruct training sessions in a formal classroom, meeting, and/or one on one type environments

Experience, Skills, Academic:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Adult Education, Corporate training of like degree required
Minimum of three years of related experience in a customer support or technical service environment required
Minimum of three years of experience in course/content development for classroom and online environments required
Minimum of three years of experience in technical writing, or equivalent education.
Minimum of three years providing adult level instruction in class room and/or online environments required
Minimum of four years experience in developing and presenting information using MS PowerPoint, Adobe Captivate, Adobe connect and similar tools required
Experience using a Learning Management system (LMS) or like solution is preferred
Internet experience required.
Experience developing for an online virtual classroom such as ANGEL, Blackboard is a Plus!
