We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for our Union Grove, WI location.
Lead/direct the Manufacturing Engineering Department within a plant. Ensure engineering projects are completed within budget and on time. Provide hiring, promotion, and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports.
Support the manufacturing of gear products and components.
Responsible for the supervision of programming, lean, tool room, process engineering, maintenance of routings and standards
Manage process improvements, tool selection, fixture designing, capital machine selection, automation, production new product implementation, and lean concepts.
Co-lead for safety committee.
Develop and implement world class manufacturing standards, systems and procedures
Lead small Technical Team together with sub-contract resources to achieve high levels of continuous improvement in a variety of machining, automation and assembly processes.
Develop improvement-based key performance indicators to enable progress to be measured
Manage budgetary control of the company's operations tooling/machine budget and resources
Perform root cause analysis and process / machinery re-design to eliminate waste
Develop and implement an effective program of variable cost reduction.
Develop, train and mentor an effective Technical Team, through team work, co-operation and communication
Manage the successful transition of major capital investment projects from quoting to full site operational readiness
Manage effective engineering change management procedures and policies
Develop and implement a lean / agile manufacturing and CI culture within the technical team
Manage the EHS and CCR processes/activities/initiatives for the production facility. Ability to create presentations and present to executive leaders
Develop and implement capital appropriate requests and improvement
Develop and implement a sustainability program to CI
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience with an emphasis on machining and assembly operations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as strong presentation skills
Strong skills in CNC programming, tooling design, and capital equipment purchases
Seven (7) years of leadership and/or manager experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma preferred, and familiarity/experience with A3 Problem Solving, 5 Whys, Kaizen, Kanban and pull systems implementation required
Strong computer skills in MS Office applications
Strong project management skills
Familiarity in gear cutting/grinding including inspection and trouble shooting.
Experience with automation in a metal working/assembly environment.
Experience utilizing six sigma analysis to continuously improve.
Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma and/or manufacturing engineering certification.
