Qualification sr required Associates degree in Nursing, minimally. Must demonstrate thorough working knowledge of the practices in a specialized field. More than three up to five years of related work experience required, demonstrating abroad knowledge of the job responsibilities and methods.Required Must hold current licensure by the State Board of Nursing Licensure and Registration. professional nursing, RNLI.:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plans and implements performance improvement programs for EMS Coordinates emergency medical services both within and outside the hospital, including pre-hospital care providers working in collaboration with the SMS EMS system coordinator.Coordinates and communicates with other hospitals, fire departments, medical officers and other participants within the EMS system. Plans, directs and organizes activities of EMS personnel within the hospital.Participates, teaches or supervises ongoing educational programs for the Emergency Department staff or other hospital staff.Participates in the ongoing educational requirements for EMT, paramedic and ECRN education.coordinates disaster drills with local fire departments.Maintains appropriate supplies and equipment required for the efficient management of the EMS supply area. Maintains radio/telemetry equipment in the ER. Performs a physical and psycho-social assessment on all assigned patients as evidenced by completed admission assessment and nursing care records. Supports patient/family/spiritual/cultural needs when assessing the patient and family needs for teaching; identifies the patient's learning level and readiness. Utilizes all available resources when assessing patients (e.g., patient's family, patient records, others).Identifies changing patient needs and alters nursing care appropriately.Identifies and prioritizes patient needs and/or nursing diagnosis for assigned patients using all available assessment tools Assesses patients with regard to discharge planning and makes the appropriate referrals as necessary. Utilizes appropriate nursing diagnosis and data from the assessment to derive realistic outcomes Collaborates with patient, family, and other members of the health care team when planning patient care.Communicates plan of care to patient and family. Oversees and directs the work of patient care or support techs; maintains overall accountability for the care of assigned patients. Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills in leading and directing others; deals with conflict directly and appropriately.Demonstrates proficiency in the charge nurses role when assigned; assumes responsibility for coordinating patient care for the entire unit. Implements nursing interventions consistent with the established plan of care. Executes physician orders in accordance with policy. Communicates changes in patient condition promptly to the charge nurse and the physician. Records all pertinent data on the patient's medical record accurately, clearly, and concisely. Demonstrates accountability for medication administration; observes patient responses to medications and documents. Evaluates and documents the patient response to nursing interventions and alters the plan of care as necessary. Coordinates aspects of patient care involving other departments. EOE/AA.
