The Asia Foundation is seeking a temporary Fundraising Database Assistant to work in its San Francisco, CA office. The position will be four days a week from early March through mid June 2013. As a member of Resource Development, the Fundraising Database Assistant would primarily be responsible for all data entry & RSVP tracking associated with the annual Lotus Circle awards luncheon, supporting the gift entry and acknowledgment process and other related record-keeping duties as assigned. This position reports to the Database Administrator and is overseen by the Assistant Director. This position also works closely with the Research and Data Analyst within the Resource Development unit to ensure accurate and efficient processing of all information.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides data entry support, including event RSVP tracking, for the annual Lotus Circle awards luncheon

Enters donor and gift information into Raiser's Edge database in a timely manner, ensuring records and files are accurate and consistent with donor intent. Verifies completed work, makes corrections where necessary.

Assists with gift acknowledgment process

Assists with returned mail processing and other constituent updates in the database

Facilitates daily operations to produce receipts, labels, and other computer-generated documents

Performs other general office duties and database work as assigned


Education and Training:
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
Minimum of two years of Raiser's Edge data-processing experience required

Prior experience with RE Events module a plus

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with mail merge experience

Very strong attention to detail and accuracy with data entry

High degree of quality control skills and ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion

Must be self directed and able to learn quickly

Experience in fundraising/development preferred

Additional Information:
This is a temporary, non-benefited, non exempt, contract position of 30 hours per week for approximately fourteen weeks. Work needs to be conducted on site during normal business hours 8:30 – 5:00 (this is not a remote or after-hours opportunity) four days a week. Close office setting; must have ability to work at computer for extended periods of time.

Salary: $18/hr
