We have an opening in our Kansas City, Missouri, office for an experienced Claims Manager Casualty Specialty. The position is responsible leading and managing Claims staff operations. It will manage projects, vendors, and services to achieve claims objectives and goals.

Qualified applicants should possess at least ten years of experience in property and casualty claims handling experience required. At least three years of experience in training, leading and supervision is required. Bachelor s degree in insurance, finance, related field or high school diploma and relative experience required. CPCU or similar insurance-related designation preferred. Fluent in MS office and computer applications. Must have extensive knowledge in claims processes and procedures along with overall knowledge of the insurance industry. Must have the ability to read and understand legal documents. Human Relations and Customer Service experience is required. Ability to explain simple and complex issues. Prepare and deliver presentations. Participate in the interview and selection process of Claims Staff. Give feedback to direct reports in a clear and concise manner. Must communicate regularly with staff regarding latest legislation, policy changes, and changes in claim practices and procedures. Must be able to collaborate and develop strong team relationships with associates from within and outside the Claims Department. Must be willing to work by the "values" established by State Auto.
