Job Responsibilities

As a Hospital Pharmacy Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurment, storage, preparation and dispensing of all medications in the organization.

Additional responsibilities of the Pharmacist include:
  • Effectively manages all physical, human and financial resources in the pharmacy to meet compliance with medical center policies, state and federal law, and accreditation and regulatory requirements. Ensures optimal services, facilitates safe medication use, develops and enforces policies, standardizes procedure and practice, and directly supervises all pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and personnel involved in the dispensing process.
  • Approves staff schedules and PTO requests. Provides orientation to new employees, competency assessments
  • , problem-solving, mentoring, annual evaluations, and disciplinary action within the department. Assists in the development, provision and evaluation of pharmaceutical care services as needed. Serves as a liaison to other pharmacy department managers regarding compliance, quality assurance, and clinical services.
  • Maintains organization of inventory records, files and references. Oversees the direct dispensing of medications on a daily basis as needed. Reports to Administrator - Professional & Support Services.
  • Supervises all pharmacists and pharmacy technicians engaged in the distributive process
Job Requirements

As a Pharmacy Operations Manager Hospital Pharmacist you must have proven experience with:

3-5 years of hospital based pharmacy experience, including managerial and administrative responsibilities. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with excellent working knowledge of pharmacy law.

Additional requirements of the Pharmacist include:
  • Must have open, clean and active California Pharmacist license
  • Ability to successfully complete background check, client health screening criteria and drug screen
  • Assignment Length: must be flexible as may end or extend depending on client need
  • Administrative residency or Masters in Pharmacy Administration; 3 to 5 years of experience as a pharmacy manager in a health care organization. Familiarity with hospital and pharmacy information systems
