Job Summary/Basic Function: The AVP is responsible for the fund-raising programs and the alumni relations program. In this capacity and under the direction of the VP, the AVP works with the vp, foundation trustees, alumni board of directors, volunteers, academic leaders and development staff to identify, cultivate and solicit gifts in support of Georgia College priorities. The position serves as an advisor to the alumni association board of directors and provides support. The AVP is responsible for the direct supervision of two development staff, the director of alumni relations and an administrative assistant.

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate must have a proven track record in setting and personally achieving major gift goals, participation in a capital campaign, staff development, prospect management, supervision, and working with and motivating volunteers. Must have a tremendous work ethic, great interpersonal and writing skills, be a self-starter, creative and energetic and be knowledgeable about all segments of fundraising.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and a proven record of significant experience in the fund raising (5-10 years). The successful candidate must have a proven track record in setting and personally achieving major gift goals, participation in a capital campaign, staff development, prospect management, supervision, and working with and motivating volunteers.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a senior level administrative leadership in higher education.
