Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Communications, this position plays a critical strategic communications role to both external and internal audiences. Primary job responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Responsible for writing and editing communications for external purposes including: press releases, company reports, Web sites and interactive media, presentations, CEO and other senior executive materials and speeches.- Enforce writing standards and guidelines for all press releases and work collaboratively with market/region sales staffs to meet those standards.- Edit each press release from the business units to ensure it is well-written and has a clear message. - Meeting multiple writing and editing deadlines while under pressure of limited time frames.2. Responsible for writing and editing communications for internal purposes including; Intranet articles, newsletters, materials promoting company programs, technology upgrades and rollouts, changing policy announcements and organizational changes. - Function as a project manager for the production of internal communication campaigns and publications.- Manage multiple, complex writing-revisions cycles to achieve optimal result3. Responsible to contribute to creative strategies for communications and promotions. - Work with the Corporate Communications team in determining objectives and key messaging. - Participate in brainstorming activities4. Responsible to uphold Editorial Standards for the company- Provide oversight of the Editorial Style Guide- Lead education/training programs as appropriate - Assist employees with Editorial Style-related questions5. Responsible to compose and/or edit answers to technical, essay-type questions, as needed.
  • Excellent writer with strong experience in developing and executing executive level communications initiatives.* Excellent oral communications skills to interact with employees at all levels of the organization, especially those in senior leadership positions.* Excellent copywriting and editorial skills with expert knowledge of Associated Press style.* Able to manage multiple, simultaneous deadlines.* Able to collaborate effectively with a diverse population of employees from various cultures and geographic locations around the world.* Bachelors degree, preferably in Public Relations/Journalism, Integrated Marketing Communications, or related field.* Knowledge of the engineering, architecture, or construction industry is a plus.* Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is a plus.* Minimum 7 years of prior experience as a Technical Writer in a corporate setting and prefer candidates with Fortune 500 experience.
