This role leads the global category management activities listed below with the goal of delivering innovative strategic sourcing solutions that continuously improve the value; quality and service received by the company within the assigned spend areas. This is to be achieved through leading effective sourcing, negotiation, supplier relationship management, risk management, and internal improvement/demand management practices for several of the assigned categories below

This individual must have a proven track record for developing and implementing global sourcing strategies for one or more of these categories and must be able to lead cross functional teams to execute the strategies and complete related contract negotiations. The successful candidate must also have a strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions and demonstrated ability to write and negotiate contracts. The successful candidate will focus on traditional sourcing models including category analysis, planning, consolidation, supplier scorecards and vendor management. A strong understanding of one or more strategic sourcing models is desired but not required. Zynga’s Sourcing process includes multiple phases from identifying a sourcing opportunity to final contract negotiations, purchase order issuance, and implementation. The process involves steps such as preparing global market research, price/cost analysis, "should cost" models, TCO, industry trends, commodity best practices and industry benchmarking. The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful implementation and execution of the sourcing strategies and the subsequent delivery of significant value contribution to the company for the category assigned. Collaboratively works with Senior Management/business partners to ensure that sourcing strategies are aligned with Business Plan strategies. Acts as internal change agent through fact-and knowledge-based influencing.

This position reports to the Head of Global Procurement & Strategic Sourcing, a dynamic and growing organization within Finance. In addition to the specific sourcing, and category management responsibilities, this position is expected to contribute to the maturity of the overall function. This includes creating and refining processes, tools and templates that can be applied to across all vendors and categories worldwide.

Responsibilities:
Manage the assigned indirect spend categories to deliver annual cost reductions to the business, while improving quality and ensuring continuous improvement.

Ability to review and analyze data to determine cost savings opportunities through vendor consolidation and/or contract renegotiations.

Negotiates cost and contract terms as appropriate

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned categories following a standard strategic sourcing methodology

Drive the RFx process through to completion; including requirements gathering, identifying go/no go criteria, scorecards with criteria and weighting, bidder's conferences, etc.

Conduct high impact eSourcing events where applicable (e.g. eRFX, eAuctions)

Contribute to the departments KPIs, including driving significant cost savings contributing to the annual goal

Reports category and supplier performance at regular intervals and runs strategic and operational reviews

Facilitate SOW and MSA - serve as a liaison between business and legal

Help identify areas of risk for the business (i.e., delivery of service, quality, performance, timeline, warranty, governance); make recommendations where applicable

Ability to insert oneself into business and recognize areas that require improvement and make recommendations for efficiency gain

Support supplier rationalization through the development of Preferred Vendor Lists (PVLs)

Remains abreast of new developments in the marketplace for assigned category

Remains abreast of procurement trends for assigned category

Drive Supplier Review Meetings with key suppliers and senior level Zynga stakeholders and provide input on performance and future needs/strategic planning

Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal customers / clients as well as vendors

Ability to shine under pressure while dealing with changing priorities and timeline

Support savings tracking processes and participates in special infrastructure-building projects as needed.

Skill and Knowledge:
Act as the business owner for his or her categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact our business (this entails owning forecasting, monitoring, understanding and reporting on the category, along with responsibility for driving strategic projects to achieve business objectives)

Build and maintain (partnering) effective working relationship with assigned business area

Highly effective interpersonal and technical skills necessary to obtain continued support from internal clients

Independent self starter with high degree of confidence and business acumen

Excellent negotiation skills. Capable of assessing each negotiation and determining an appropriate strategy that considers the full range of resources available.

Strong analytical, problem solving, negotiations, project management, and presentation skills and communication skills

Coordinate and provide contract and negotiation related support to business units

Solid team player; can work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment and with those contacted during the course of work

Fluency in English and other languages required based on regional assignment.

Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, supply chain management, logistics, finance or related discipline. MBA or other advanced degree desired

5+ years or progressive and relevant work experience with Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

Public company and Sarbanes-Oxley experience is a plus

Multiple category experience is a plus

SPSM, CPSM, or other professional procurement certification is a plus
