This part-time 2-D Studio Support Staff position will provide supervision of open studio time in Drawing, 2-Dimensional Foundations, Painting and Printmaking facilities and serve as a floating manager for each of these studios. Works with faculty in each area to provide efficient workspaces, track supply inventory and assist with supply ordering for the facilities.
This is a .5 FTE with benefits.
Provide supervision of open studio time. Provide efficient workspaces, track supply inventory and assist with supply ordering for the facilities. Makes small repairs to tools and equipment in the studios and outsources larger repairs, ensuring all equipment is in safe working order. Assembles new equipment or tools as they are purchased. Provides assistance with furniture and room modifications when necessary, such as communicating with area coordinators concerning efficient use of space for critiques, staging of live model and still-life arrangements. Oversees the condition and availability of classroom supplies. Acts as a liaison with AHEC on issues related to waste disposal, health, safety and building maintenance.
B.F.A. in Art or Bachelor’s Degree in a closely related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Please note that 2 years of experience equals 1 year of education.
M.F.A. in Art. Experience with Printmaking is preferred, as is some familiarity with digital technology in a Printmaking, Drawing or Painting context.
Experience managing/maintaining an art studio.
