Job Description Summary: Assessment/screening for vocational referrals for employment skills and/or pre-employment needs or technical training; development of community jobs; working with employers to ensure quality job placements and retention; working with outside agencies and developing partnerships to benefit the employment program. Employment Specialist will cooperatively work with treatment teams towards mutually established outcomes and conduct career and vocational readiness classes which include resume writing, interviewing skills and job search strategies. Knowledge of strengths based case management skills and willingness to assist the CM with necessary functions to monitor, refer and link clients to needed services. Contribute to program development and must have knowledge and demonstrate the ability to work with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or developmental delay.
Requires Master’s Degree in Human Services, Education or a related field; rehabilitation or vocational rehabilitation focus preferred. Proficiently using word processing or database, spreadsheet and financial software. Excellent oral/written communication, client –service oriented, team player, solid computer skills, resume/cover letter writing knowledge, interviewing and networking skills.
