The Behavioral Services Mental Health Technician works as part of the multi-disciplinary team in providing efficient, effective, quality patient care based on the specific ages of the patients served to promote, maintain, or restore physical and mental health.
The Mental Health Technician functions under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, unit Nurse Team Manager, Registered Nurse or designee.
Education – must have an Associate Degree in mental health technology, human services, or related human services area, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent.
Job Experience - Previous psychiatric inpatient experience preferred.
Job Knowledge - Must have a general knowledge of human behaviors, abnormal and developmental psychology.
Requires certification in CPI and CPR.
