Job Summary:
Commercial Insurance Premium Audit is looking to hire Premium Inside Auditors to ensure proper classification, measurement of exposure and determination of proper premium charges which accurately reflect the insurable risks by conducting telephone audits or reviewing premium audits of commercial lines policies in a timely and cost-effective manner. The emphasis on this position within the job family is on conducting telephone audits under minimal supervision and learning to review audits as preparation for advancement within the job family.

Responsibilities:
May have to work an alternative work schedule up to manager discretion

Within an assigned geographical area via telephone interviews and associated documentation, receives completed information from the insured, arranges interviews with business owners, managers, and independent accountants to ensure the proper reporting of information.

Obtains, analyzes, and verifies audit information through at least two sources, which may include payroll records, personnel and job lists, general ledgers, etc. to determine the proper classifications and exposures.

Using appropriate software completes audits by applying proper rules and classifications on various lines of business including worker's comp, CCP, general liability, garage etc.

Organizes and manages assigned workload to meet productivity, quality, and time service standards.

Prepares reports as requested.

Within defined guidelines, discusses and negotiates areas of dispute with agents and insureds to reach agreement on premium audit procedures and findings to ensure collection of adjusted premium and retention of good commercial lines business.

Seeks direction and guidance from the supervisor as needed.

Under moderate supervision reviews completed audits to ensure proper classification and exposures.

This includes physical audits and telephone audits as completed by staff and vendors.

Assists with ensuring compliance with all manual rules, state regulations, and state exceptions.

Begins to exercise some independent judgment in serving as a resource to commercial underwriting, agents, and insureds as well as the Premium Audit processing unit.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
BA/BS college degree preferably in accounting or business or equivalent work experience

3 years of experience conducting non-physical audits (typically via mail or telephone) and reviewing all types of audits

PC experience with working knowledge of Excel and Word

Completion of introductory insurance courses and willingness to complete APA 91 & 92

Ability to organize time and workload

Good oral and written communications skills

Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices

General knowledge of commercial insurance products offered by the Company
