Test Solutions Developer
As a software engineer in the Test and Manufacturing Solutions (TMS) organization, you will work to develop test automation solutions for Design-for-Test (DFT) insertion and verification, test content generation such as Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG) and fault simulation, modular test content reuse, silicon validation and debug, and fault isolation (diagnosis) of silicon failures. You will architect, develop and deploy CAD capabilities to address problems in this space, and adapt off-the-shelf capabilities where available to build solutions. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team spanning chip design, product development and process technology development..
Skills: Working knowledge (through coursework or projects) of logic design principles, VLSI design flow and VLSI CAD algorithms. Experience in programming with C++; analytical skills for problem abstraction; broad theoretical knowledge in computer science, including algorithms and data structures; familiarity with standard software engineering practices for version control, configuration management, debugging and validation.
Skills: Minimum requirements, plus: Detailed understanding of design-for-test (DFT) principles and test CAD or formal verification algorithms; advanced C++ language concepts used in standard libraries; working knowledge of software design patterns & programming paradigms; fluency in the use of Linux OS features and scripting languages; ability to apply scientific methods to investigate problems and to reduce ambiguity in making technical decisions.
Experience: acquired through coursework, thesis, internships, or research projects.
- 2 years experience in applied computer programming, including:
- 1+ years experience in implementation of software for CAD or engineering analysis, or
- 1+ year experience in use of multi-threading or parallel programming technology
Education: MS or Ph.D. degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science, with a thesis in the area of DFT, test CAD or formal verification.
