There are certain jobs that we have a firm grip upon and totally get... Then there are jobs like this one where we're about as in tune with what this one as Kim Jong il was with civil rights - a LONG way off. So we will spare you most of our witty stuff and keep this one on the up and up...well, as much as we can anyway.
Our Silicon Valley client is looking for a Lead Technical Contributor for their SW development department. They have Windows based tablet products and as a result they need someone who will work with both their internal and external customers and negotiate, design, and lead implementation of a wide range of highly complex features and systems.
This does a whole lot more, but that's as simply put as our simply put minds can explain them. :)
To qualify for this position that pays in the $100-$200K range plus benefits etc., you must have a BS/MS in CS, EE or equivalent with a MINIMUM of 15 years' experience in developing low level embedded software, leading collaborative SW/silicon development and have a demonstrated success in designing and leading implementation of complex software architectures to aggressive deadlines. We expect to see that CLEARLY on your resume. If, when sending it, you think we'll extrapolate that out, well good luck with that. We always tell our clients, "expect the other person on the other end to know nothing and you'll never be disappointed because more often than not - they don't, so make sure it's clear as a Pro-Active face would be.
Make sure your resume also demonstrates experience in leadership in broadly influencing technical direction at the corporate and/or industry level.
Technically, and our clients told us this is about as negotiable as a getting a lease to open a "Hooters Restaurant" in Iran, they want a MINIMUM of 10 yearsÂ’ experience with of Windows frameworks and driver/HAL interfaces and GFX and media processing at the HW interface (Win 8 is desired). Deep familiarity with power management architecture and security/DRM/conditional access implementations better be on the resume too. You'll also need to know, and again, have plainly written on your resume, which I have a feeling is going to read like "War and Peace" at this point, is to have PC system architecture and experience with development of consumer based devices such as tablets, mobile phones or set top boxes.
Having worked in a fast-paced, startup like environment would also be nice to see on the CV...
